Determined to go hunting and perform a ceremonial dance to ward off the storm, he took the ceremonial dancing sticks and ventured out. Sadly, he never returned.

While the rest of the clan sought refuge in caves to wait out the storm, the women searched for him afterwards but could not find him. Meanwhile, in a different part of the country, children were gathering bush foods and swimming in newly filled rockholes when they accidentally discovered the young man's body. He had perished during the storm.

This story is passed down to children as a lesson in the importance of heeding the wisdom of their elders.
