    A Christmas Carol

    Size: 20cm

    PublishedSeptember, 2014

    Publisher: Usborne Publishing Ltd

This special edition of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, complete and unabridged, is beautifully illustrated in watercolours and pen and ink by Alan Marks. It is timeless Christmas classic to treasure forever.

    About the Author:

On February 7, 1812, Charles Dickens entered the world near Portsmouth, England, where his father worked as a clerk in the navy pay office. After moving to London in 1823, the family saw an enormous drop in their financial standing. After Dickens's father went to imprisonment due to financial difficulties, the boy was forced to find work in a blacking warehouse. Both had a significant impact on the aspiring novelist. Starting in 1833, he published short stories in periodicals before launching the serial publishing of Pickwick Papers in 1836. The next twenty years saw the release of Dickens's main works, from Nicholas Nickleby through Little Dorrit. In addition, he oversaw publication of the periodicals Household Words and All Year Round. Dickens passed away in June of 1870.
