    Simplicia paints a story about an elderly woman who travelled with her six children in search of food and water. When she couldn’t find anything, she began digging a hole, and soon water began to flow. Many different animals gathered at the waterhole. The old woman then created four islands, similar to Darwin, Bathurst, and Melville Island. She also created the waters and all the sea creatures, including crabs, barramundi, mud mussels, longbums, stingrays, turtles, dugongs, and various fish that provided food. As she travelled with her children on her back, she shaped the islands. Both young and old people came, lighting a fire and dancing around it, rejoicing in the abundance of water everywhere.
